Happy Summer Solstice

Today, 20th June marks the first day of astronomical summer. Happy Summer Solstice everybody!

Mid to late afternoon here in ‘The Shires’ and thinking about dinner for the children. A home made fish pie for Daddy and Dadda’s dinner.

Remus is opposite me chilling. Gracie is lying with Aaliyah. Caleb looks on as Daddy and Amritsar play a game of chess. Tara and Thor are watching a cartoon on the television intently.

Amritsar is in jubilation as she has just taken daddy’s knight. She has both of them at this point. She’s getting quite good at chess!

I have been tinkering away on my phone for the last couple of hours with instagram. I’m really remembering why I stopped Instagram the last time, as it takes up so much of your time! I know that this is the years longest day and all, but where did the afternoon go?

Daddy has just conceded to Amritsar, his 7 year old daughter. She’s good!

Everyone milling about now as we’re about to go out front and ride our bikes! Maybe not Thor however as he is now running about in just his underwear! I guess I’ll have to sit in with him! Never mind.

  2. Well I think it looks great. I’m not on Insta but managed to follow the link and have a quick snoop before it froze me out. Nice photography. Your kids are just lovely; I thought that when I watched you on C4. The girls were incredibly good ambassadors for your family and parenting style. Oh and I’ve finished your book! 🙌 What a read! Loved it, Andi.

    1. Wow! Thank you Anna for your kind words. The girls are indeed intrepid young ambassadors! And the fact that they are our young ambassadors is everything to us.

      I’m so glad you enjoyed reading the story of how my family came to be! I would so appreciate a few words of reaction to the story on the review option on Amazon. It is really a story that I tried very hard to forget at certain points!

  4. Happy Summer Solstice! We had the pleasure of visit Stonehenge 7 years ago with my hubby and his parents. Back before being parents ourselves. It was a nice experience. I just read this morning we can join in Stonehenge Solstice celebrations virtually this year!

    1. That’s very cool. It is quite a vintage isn’t it Ab. We went there with Johns sisters family 5 years ago. We had a great day. And yes, I heard that the druids has gone online this year! Good for them! Have a lovely Solstice Ab… 😃 it was a massive celebration before Christianity arrived! They did steal winter solstice as you may well know! What do we call it now… hmmmh…. 😄

        John insisted on watching the Margret Thatcher movie ‘The Iron Lady’ tonight, starring Meryl Streep, on Amazon. He does live political programming! I have to oblige. Though as you know, I will never give a political view on this, my diary! We see far to much of today’s politics on our general media! Come to think of it, social media as well 🙁

        I have been having some migraines the past month, very unpleasant!

        I have seen “The Iron Lady” Meryl Streep was wonderful in the role of Margaret Thatcher ~ Jeff also likes political programs ~ there are a lot of people who share their views ~ I do voice my opinion when it comes to trump as he is a man without any morals or conscience and so bad for our country!

      15. Yes, we had calls from Bess and David and they had a nice talk with their dad ~ we will do video calls later in the day ~

      8. Yeah, they’re a bunch of thieving crooks. Britt and I don’t do religion so we’re fine, but thanks for the wishes, Andi. Happy solstice too. I can’t wait til the night comes back. It’s a pain to get to sleep these days.
