I’m not sure why today’s entry came to mind! I expect because many writers regard their unfinished work on Twitter as a #WIP. Now, as a diarist, I don’t completely regard myself as a writer! Though I have published two books through amazon.co.uk

The story of who my family is today!

I once tweeted ‘Tweets don’t write books, but blogs do’! And it’s true. My blog, this diary, this account of a pretty regular ‘family life’ is a glimpse into my big crazy family life!

This diary is a #WIP so maybe I should feel a little more like a writer. There always seems to be something going on, something to write about.

I guess the chaos of having 5 children so young and with so little between their ages, only two years. we as a family are a work in progress. Something we share with every other family out there no doubt.

Tonight at 8pm is episode 2 of Britain’s Best Parent on Channel 4 here in the UK. I am sure the debate in parenting styles will continue. There is sure to be negativity thrown into the mix. But I hope enough positivity as to continue to fuel the debate!

At this point I am feeling a little apprehensive. Only a week to go for us! I only hope that the nation looks at itself and realises that we are all indeed a #WIP (Work In Progress). I cant possibly comment on what is to come on the show, but I will say that it was a fun experience to be part of. And like my diary blog:

Our small part in the show is just a moment in time, just like each and every diary entry that I make. Indeed, any family in the UK could have been on the show to represent us, the modern British family. And we were lucky enough to have been chosen and we really appreciate that. My family, just like your family is very much a ‘Work In Progress’ (#WIP). Please be kind!

    1. I hope people just see us as a happy family! I just saw us on the end of tonight’s episode in preparation for next week. The cats out of the bag! Please excuse that term Ab! 🙂 our parenting style is ‘Organised Chaos’… didn’t you use the term chaos in an earlier comment Ab! Haha.

    1. Hello Margie. So sorry that my phone has been on charge these last few hours. Truth be known, I’ve had a bit of a headache also. Something I very rarely suffer with. Weather is still grey sadly. The day went well. Our nanny isn’t here Thursday mornings. But here from 2.30pm. I hope your day is relaxing I’m the Denver sunshine. Sending our very best to you all 🙂

        I have been having a flare-up of migraines this week and it’s pretty awful.
        I have not had a migraine in over a year, yikes!
        I just have to go lay down and rest when it occurs.

      2. Oh Margie, thank you for your well wishes. I am feeling this morning that it might be connected to an ongoing problem in my upper jaw which is incredibly painful today. It’s been 2 years now and the operation is really overdue! But with hospitals not operating! Oh dear.

        So sorry to hear of your fight with migraines. That really can’t be pleasant. Let us hope when this has passed there is another year without. Sending our warmest wishes. Be well 🙂

        All is okay here, I am staying at my daughter’s for the weekend as they went to Nebraska in our motor home.
        Poor Kelsey seems so sad though, she is missing her family and would not eat this morning.
        I am going to take her on a walk very shortly and I hope that cheers her up.

      6. Thank you so much Margie. My slight temperature has subsided. My head feeling a bit better due to paracetamol. My blog today was simple as a copy/paste of Eighteen Moons, the synopsis, to celebrate tonight’s partial lunar eclipse. I always used to publish a chapter of my book on the full moon. So I thought this was fitting.

        I am so glad you are staying at your daughters home with Kelsey. A shame that she is a little saddened. I am sure the walk will pick her up a bit.

  5. Funny I should see this a friend of mines was just saying this is all a work in progress to me. He was giving me ideas of things to talk about and I was like hmmm that is food for thought. Hope you are doing well over there.

  6. I absolutely love this post and identify with it fully, Andi. When you say ‘Tweets don’t write a book, but blogs do’ – yes. Having never been on social media in my life, I am now discovering Twitter as a way of linking with the wider teaching and home educating community. It works well as a tool for that and I don’t really enjoy the noise and stress of it. but it has put me in touch with some interesting people in my field. However, in terms of content? There’s nothing there. It’s all just noise and hot air. I would rather give my time to really engage with a few great bloggers than bother with a lot of the face slaps you have to sift through on Twitter. I don’t have the time for it, either. I have kids, you know? Lol. I know you’re the same. Have a great day and thanks for this uplifting post.

    1. Absolutely Anna. There is just so much noise out there, but sift through that noise and you do find connection to content! I think the homeschoolers can definitely connect within homeschooling hashtags, much like the greater writing community.

      Your time has to be a little delegated, doesn’t it! Kids come first and the rest to follow in proportion! Thank you for your lovely comment! 😍
