Aaliyah is panting loudly, just like a dog in fact, misting up the glass door to the garden. Tara is hiding beneath the large red acer on the terrace. Amritsar is moaning about something Aaliyah said over 10 minutes ago. Thor is hanging around, close to the trampoline. Caleb, bless him has just finished counting to 20. Already he’s saying ‘I can see you Tara, I can see you’. Caleb’s counting is really coming along. He actually counted to 30 earlier on today. ‘I’m not playing’, pipes up Thor. Moving on, now Aaliyah has just popped her head out from the large, flowering rhododendron bush at the bottom of the garden. Amritsar is shouting at everyone!
Yes, this is their post dinner attempt at ‘hide and seek’ in the garden. Not their best attempt at this game I have to add. So, Daddy has just decided to say ‘let’s play big bad bear then’?
Oops, Caleb has just stepped in dog poo. There’s always gonna be one that was missed on the daily doggies poop scoop in the garden.
Now a few baby wipes later, we’re back in action. So, what’s happening now?
Amritsar has just said ‘Daddy, I did a handstand’! Tara and Caleb are loitering under a tree. Daddy has just stopped proceedings to do another sweep of the garden for dog poo. I guess ‘big bad bear’ is off for now. Aaliyah is shouting ‘I don’t want to play any more’ and has just stormed inside to snuggle up with Gracie on the sofa.
Do you remember the movie ‘The Omen’? Thor is now riding around the terrace in circles on the small bicycle with stabilisers grinning to himself! Thankfully we are not indoors on the top landing, me fiddling with a light fitting!
I look up and see that the rest of them are all playing what seems to be the ‘Hokey Cokey’ now. At least Amritsar had stopped screaming at everyone!
I think it’s time for bed.
Your fun. It never ends. 😀

I’m exhausted just reading that. Hahaha. Dog poop is never fun to step in but creates fun memories to laugh at later. Enjoy that rest tonight when the kids hopefully fall asleep quickly!

Caleb has just run downstairs screaming ‘I love you daddy / I love you Dadda’! Now sent back to his bed as he gets a little obsessed and keeps screaming the words, wanting the ‘ I love you Caleb’ right back.
Talking of Caleb, yes the step in the dog poo was with a bare foot. Not shoe! Eek 🤔 all quiet now however Ab.
Have a great evening!

Haha! The chaos you capture in this post really made me laugh! Oh, yes, I remember The Omen.. but that little Tara of yours would fit in well with my lot. Fogging the windows? Honestly. Makes me seriously question why I bother ever cleaning them in the first place.. lol 🙈

I know Anna – as for the television screen!
Chaos is what they know best at 4, 5 and 6 (now 7)! We work with it well, they all scream, we negotiate, they smile, they scream (slightly less), job done! 😌

Yep, sounds like bedtime to me. You really need to get them working on the Sound of Music routine ASAP 😉

I am so looking forward to that! I am persuasive myself that the ‘family choir’ will definitely be a ‘thing’… they need some choral experience if they are going to be a rock band! Lol

OMG! !
I bet you and daddy feel ready for bed too!
I think the only thing kids wear out faster than shoes is their parents!
Such is the life of daddy and dadda with five adventurous kids.
Always fun to read your posts, Andi .

Aaah! Thank you Margie. Words of wisdom. Mind you, in lockdown the shoes have been almost abolished as have the socks! We are in for an eye opener next Monday when the 3 little ones will restart school. It seems it’s going ahead! Mind you, Sindy our nanny will also be returning to work!!! So maybe Daddy and Dadda will be a little less worn out! Have a nice day Margie. A hug for Hank. Hope he is feeling a bit more perky today 😊

Andi, yeah, it’s the same here about shoes and socks, I have been going barefoot for a long time now except for when we take Hank on a walk and then I have to search for that one missing sneaker that Hank has made off with to another part of the house. (Hank is such a funny boy! )
So, school will start again next Monday, our schools here are closed and I guess they will start up again in August.
I have lots of concerns about schools opening up across the country here too soon and even going back in August leaves me worried for Rose and Nolan as I am quite sure this virus will not have magically disappeared by then!
Hank is doing so much better, thank you!
I shall give him that hug, he is so very huggable!
Hugs to all of you!
Enjoy the rest of your day, Andi.

I love the barefoot in the garden approach to embracing our lockdown situation. And naughty boy Hank! Where’s mommy’s shoe?
People here have been given the choice to return to school on Monday (or not)! But with our nanny back and the government playing down the fact regarding small children carrying covid – we will embrace this tentative step! Did you read my earlier posts ‘The 3 year old cold’ and the ‘4 year old cold’. The truth is that in my 12 weeks of lockdown, I am now on the third cold in just that time alone!!! Viruses come in via delivered shopping! All very unsettling. I really have avoided dwelling on it in my blog posts. My sneezing has no positive or uplifting connotation!
I am glad that Hank is feeling better. I said our two hounds were off their food for a few day’s, didn’t I? But all us well now.
Hugs right back at ya! 😊 have a lovely day…

Oh, I understand, Andi and I am sure your little ones will be just fine. 🙂
Glad to hear Remus and Gracie are back to eating again, it’s always a concern when our furry kids have changes in their eating habits.
Our wonderful boy Jake had stopped eating for 2 days and I knew something was wrong but I never imagined it was cancer and we had to say our good-byes a few hours after we took him in to see our vet. (it was a very fast moving cancer and he was suffering!)
It was May, 21st of 2017 when we lost our Jakie Boo, he was 10 years old.
It was one of the saddest days of my life saying good-bye to Jake. 😦
But, now we have Hank and love him in the same way we loved Jake. 🙂

Oh Margie! Remembering the sadness of saying goodbye to Jake. I guess that will always hurt. I completely see why Hanks loss of appetite persuaded you to have the checkup.
That day saying goodbye! I can only but imagine. 🙁
Take care Margie. Woof woof to Hank. Woof woof for Jake too tonight. Nite nite.

Thanks Andi. 🙂
Life goes on and we learn to live with our losses.
But, so very often I call Hank Jake so Jake is always in my heart and never forgotten.
Why just this morning I asked Jeff, “where is Jake” He looked at me in a puzzled manner and answered, “Jake is gone but Hank is here.”
I answered, “they are both here.”
Hank looks so very much like Jake ! 🙂 :):)
Good night, Andi.
