A Lūʻau in the Living Room (or Not)

A great idea was hatched in my mind this morning with having read fellow blogger Anna Dusseau’s homeschooling blog. One of her suggestions was themed rooms. If you can’t go away on holiday, bring the holiday to you! It seemed like a great idea. I remembered having purchased inflatable pineapples and palm trees a plenty, various birthday gifts for the children over the years. Please take note! Inflatables make perfect gifts for children as they are both fun and inexpensive.

Okay, you might remember that Caleb has always had a unique ability to break things! Big things, small things, plastic things and pretty much any things! Well, I just remembered where all of the inflatables are! Sadly with Caleb’s compulsion to bite holes in stuff, we are sadly only left with a single palm tree and a crocodile. So much for decking out the living room. Though, unbeknownst to me, Thor and Aaliyah made a small tropical island for the crocodile when I wasn’t looking! Ham and pineapple on the menu for the Lū’au. It might take you a moment to decipher what pictures are us playing games and which ones are the real thing!

  1. Hi Andi and family.
It’s so nice to be visiting again!
I have not been online this week as it’s not been a very good week for me.
Wonderful photos and sounds like you all had so much fun! 🙂

    1. Hello and thank you Margie. I completely understand a bit of time off! I did see on the news some ‘Trump’ inspired protests in Denver! That man does seem to fan the flames of discontentment! I’ll stop there (no political comment). As much as we are choking, this sadly is the best approach for the health professionals. Stay home, stay safe. Stay safe Margie, won’t you 🙂

      1. Andi, I cannot speak the name trump these days without being appalled.
Home has become my safe place but how I miss the little ones and I so want to meet their new family member, Kelsey has been adopted!
She brings them all a lot of joy!
My daughter so loves her and looks forward to all her zen moments with the beautiful greyhound! 🙂

  2. This is brilliant! You did a better job than us today.. It’s so hard to tell which is the holiday snap and which is the mock up?! Lol. Super work, guys! You are truly honorary homeschoolers and I can see your kids are thriving on this unique bubble of time at home. I read your blog every day because it’s so full of fun and positivity. These are difficult times and I know many families are struggling, so it’s refreshing to see happy kids and families making memories.

    1. I know, it really is! 🤣 and Anna, your very kind words are so very appreciated… it is a bubble isn’t it? Now it’s time to blush!

Hoping you and your clan are finally settled in. Thor tonight was really difficult at bedtime! iPad privileges expired tomorrow! 🤔 oh dear! Maybe more on that storyline in the morrow! Nite nite 🙂
